I've tried minimum settings, I've tried maximum settings. I checked the affinity and made sure it was only using one core. Neither of these have had any discernible effect. I have also tried a couple of fixes that i saw suggested on forums, replacing the Mss32.dll file and modifying the swkotor.ini to Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1. I'm not sure why running it in compatibility mode would do that, but it did. The only effect this had was to delete my saves. I have tried running the game in XP compatibility mode, both SP 2 and SP 3. I would say it crashes on average after 20-30 minutes of gameplay, and almost never immediately after starting the game. For example, walking into a cantina to find that there is no floor, walls or ceiling, wandering around for about 30 seconds, and then the game crashes. The few times this has happened it was preceded by entering a new area or loading a menu and finding missing textures and images.

Rarely, it will crash during normal gameplay when I'm not saving or loading. It has also happened a few times when I attempt to quick save, with the result that my quick save is corrupted and I have to load a backup. Usually this happens during load screens transitioning from one area to another. KOTOR 2 keeps crashing to desktop with the message swkotor has encountered a problem and needs to close.
